Leadership Certificate Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Leadership at the Ã山ǿ¼é is designed to provide individuals with the essential skills needed to assume positions of leadership and to excel in these roles. Those currently in the workforce, who seek advancement or new positions, will find that the Graduate Certificate in Leadership offers a balanced and multi-disciplinary curriculum that will create effective leaders who communicate and innovate. Coursework is offered online with asynchronous learning, allowing students to take classes as their schedule permits.

After acceptance into a graduate program at Ã山ǿ¼é, students are eligible to apply for a Graduate Studies scholarship. Scholarships may be awarded up to the beginning of each semester. Please contact Graduate Studies if you have any questions.

Admission to the Graduate Certificate Program in Leadership requires:

  • • Graduation with a bachelor's degree from a college of university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission or a comparable association.
  • • Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in all courses taken at the undergraduate level.
  • • Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all courses taken at the graduate level.
  1. Submit an online application and $40 application fee.
    • • Are you a current Ã山ǿ¼é Graduate Student wanting to add or switch to the Graduate Certificate in Leadership program? Just complete the Change of Graduate Program form!
  2. Upload a current resume to your application account.
  3. Submit transcripts to Graduate Studies. 
    • • Official transcripts are required only from the institution at which your highest degree was earned. Electronic transcripts are preferred and can be emailed from the previous institution to Graduate.Studies@usi.eduor the previous institutions e-transcript portal, if applicable (i.e. Parchment or National Student ClearingHouse).
    • • Unofficial transcripts from other institutions attended can be submitted by the applicant via application status page or by email to Graduate.Studies@usi.edu.
    • • Applicants who wish to seek transfer credit for graduate coursework must submit an official transcript from the institution where that work was completed.
    • • Official International course-by-course evaluated transcripts must be sent from a  to the School of Graduate Studies by email (Graduate.Studies@usi.edu) or the evaluators transcript portal (if applicable).
