Dr. Brian L. McGuire, Associate Dean of the Romain College of Business, has been appointed to the Global Accreditation Committee (GAC) for AACSB International, effective July 1, 2026. Under AACSB International鈥檚 new governance structure, its Board of Directors provides AACSB鈥檚 strategic direction, organizational policy-making, and fiduciary authority. The GAC serves as AACSB's global accreditation policy, process, and decision-ratification body for both business and accounting accreditation.
The GAC currently has oversight of the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC), the Continuous Improvement Review Committee (CIRC), the Accounting Accreditation Committee (AAC), and the Eligibility Review Committee (ERC). The GAC is composed of a maximum of fourteen members, which includes a GAC Chair and GAC Vice Chair, the chairs of the IAC, CIRC, AAC, and ERC, and up to eight other representatives.

Dr. McGuire has a long history of service with AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). He served as Chair of the AACSB Accounting Accreditation Committee (AAC), as Chair of AACSB鈥檚 Associate Deans Affinity Group (ADAG), as Vice Chair of the AACSB Accounting Accreditation Committee, and as Vice Chair of AACSB鈥檚 Associate Deans Affinity Group.
In addition, Dr. McGuire served as a member of the AACSB鈥檚 Accounting Accreditation Policy Committee (AAPC) and as a member of the AACSB鈥檚 Committee on Accreditation Policy (CAP). He also served on the Steering Committee for the Responsible Management Education (RME) Affinity Group, and he served on the Steering Committee for the Associate Deans Affinity Group.
Dr. McGuire has served as an AACSB Mentor of Initial Accounting Accreditation, as an AACSB Mentor of Accounting Accreditation, as a member of the 2018 Accounting Accreditation Task Force (AATF) that developed the 2018 AACSB Standards for Accounting Accreditation, and as a member of the 鈥渕yAccreditation 2.0鈥 Alpha Testing Project. Dr. McGuire has also served AACSB International as the Accounting Chair for various 鈥淚nitial Accounting Accreditation鈥 teams and 鈥淐ontinuing Review鈥 teams since 2008.
