Ã山ǿ¼é launches initiatives to help stock Archie's Closet shelves for holiday season

The Ã山ǿ¼é invites the Ã山ǿ¼é and Evansville communities to join efforts to helpÌýstockÌýArchie’s ClosetÌýduring the holidayÌýseason.Ìý

Through two initiatives, the University aims to strengthen Archie’s Food Closet,Ìýa campus resource supporting the health and wellness of students andÌýemployees, andÌýmakeÌýfood more accessible across campus.Ìý

Ã山ǿ¼é Public Safety is hosting a Stuff the Cruiser initiative to collect non-perishable items for Archie’s Food Closet. A Public Safety cruiser will be parked in front of Liberty Arena, Home of the Screaming Eagles during four upcoming home Ã山ǿ¼é Basketball games: the first at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 16, the second at 6 p.m. Monday, November 17, the third at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 and the fourth at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 29.Ìý

Those wishing to donate can give items directly to the Public Safety employee or student worker stationed at the cruiser. Donations can also be dropped off at the Public Safety Office,ÌýlocatedÌýon the first floor of the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center, at any time.Ìý

High priority items needed for Archie’s Closet include:ÌýÌý

Additionally, theÌýRecreation, Fitness and Wellness Center, in partnership with the Dean of Students Office, Disability Resources andÌýStaff Council,Ìýwill hostÌýaÌýpop-up food pantryÌýfromÌýMonday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 25 in the Fireside Lounge,ÌýlocatedÌýin University Center East.ÌýThese pantries will provide convenient access to food items donated to Archie’s Closet, helping support members of the Ã山ǿ¼é community in need.Ìý
