Ramsey to deliver Romain College of Business Commencement Address
The speaker for the Romain College of Business Ceremony is David Ramsey, a 2005 Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems graduate. As a data scientist, artificial intelligence (AI) engineer and enterprise technology leader, Ramsey has over two decades of experience turning complex systems into competitive advantages. Specializing in Bayesian statistics, simulation modeling, generative deep learning and multi-agent AI orchestration, his work combines technical depth and strategic impact to adapt AI capabilities into systems that drive business results.
In 2025, Ramsey joined SYRV.AI as Vice President of Data Science and AI Engineering, where he leads client engagements and builds multi-agent AI orchestration systems. Under Ramsey鈥檚 leadership, SYRV.AI connects clients to cutting-edge AI solutions that address specialized business challenges and objectives. Ramsey designs corporate training programs that help engineering teams integrate AI agents into their day-to-day practice, making emerging technologies more accessible. Prior to joining SYRV.AI, Ramsey spent 18 years advancing through data science roles at Macy鈥檚, one of America鈥檚 largest retailers. Though he started as an operations analyst, Ramsey later served as Senior Manager of Data Science and Business Intelligence, followed by Director of Product Analytics and Data Science. In this role, his team used simulation and advanced modeling to help optimize Macy's technology capital expenditure portfolio. Ramsey鈥檚 innovative work informed the strategy behind decisions involving hundreds of millions of dollars, and his impressive career history with the company demonstrates his growth mindset and motivation to help businesses leverage technology for optimal outcomes.
In addition to his professional roles, Ramsey is also committed to sharing his extensive knowledge of AI and data science to inspire and inform future pioneers in the technology industry. As a guest lecturer at the University of Cincinnati and a presenter at the college鈥檚 annual Data Science Symposium, Ramsey has educated young professionals on Bayesian structural time series models and the theory behind ReACT-patterned AI agents. Last year, he published Claude Code: The Complete Guide, a book exploring how to effectively use Anthropic's AI coding agent through practical workflows, best practices and Ramsey鈥檚 own hard-earned lessons from his years of experience as a developer.
