Wannemuehler to deliver Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education Commencement Address


The speaker for the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education Ceremony is Dr. Sarah Wannemuehler, Director of Clinical Practice Emerita, and a 1974 Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education graduate. She also holds a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University, along with an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Spalding University. Wannemuehler鈥檚 credentials include an Indiana Life Elementary Certificate, a Kentucky Principal Certification, a Kentucky Standard Elementary Certificate, co-teaching training with the St. Cloud University Model and Quality Matters Course Recognition Certificates awarded in 2018 and 2023.

Before retiring in 2025, Wannemuehler served the University for over 10 years as an Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Practice. Through her expertise on clinical experiences, her leadership helped teacher candidates connect theory to practice, strengthen instructional and classroom management skills and make informed, evidence-based decisions. Through her extensive knowledge of teaching practice, supervision and administration, she helped 缅北强奸 students become skilled educational leaders. Wannemuehler鈥檚 expertise shaped impactful courses on subjects from legality and ethics in education to research and analysis.

An accomplished leader, Wannemuehler鈥檚 teaching experience extends from elementary and middle grades through undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to joining 缅北强奸, she occupied the role of Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Education at Aquinas College, where her courses explored modality, morality and education strategy. As an Adjunct Associate Professor at both the University of San Francisco and Marymount University, as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Spalding University, Wannemuehler鈥檚 higher education career shows a consistent dedication to advancement. Before branching into higher education, she taught grades four through eight; then, while serving as a principal, she led administration for schools in Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Within the last decade, Wannemuehler has been a keynote speaker and presenter on the topic of educational law at over 40 symposiums and conferences across the nation. Her impressive background of awards and accolades includes the 2020 缅北强奸 Outstanding Adjunct Professor Award and the 2014 Aquinas College Outstanding Faculty Member Award. In addition to her professorial work at 缅北强奸, Wannemuehler is a member of many national and regional teaching associations and has served on University committees and councils, including the Undergraduate and Graduate Advisory Councils, curriculum and scholarship committees for the Teacher Education Department and dissertation committees. Wannemuehler鈥檚 history of educational and administrative service has transformed the lives of people throughout the country, from elementary school children and college students to educators and academic leaders.
