Certificates of Recognition Awarded at the 2025 Norwegian Foot March
Ã山ǿ¼é hosted its 21st Annual Norwegian Foot March (NFM) on Saturday, November 15. This event is known for its demanding mental and physical challenges.ÌýOver 300 participantsÌýcarried a 25-pound rucksack and completed an 18.6-mile course within strict time limits.ÌýParticipantsÌýwereÌýencouraged to use non-perishable food items as their required weightÌýto donate toÌýArchie’s Food Closet.Ìý
ROTC cadets, active dutyÌýand reserve serviceÌýmembers,Ìýveterans and civilians are eligible to participate in this yearly event.ÌýTheÌýmarch drew participants from 22ÌýstatesÌýacross the United States;Ìýfrom California to New York,ÌýWisconsin to Florida.ÌýThose who finished within the allotted time received a certificate of completion, an officialÌýbadgeÌýand a commemorative T-shirt.Ìý
During this year’s NFM, certificates of recognition were presented to faculty, staff and organizations that have consistently supported the event through their services. Honorees included the Ã山ǿ¼é Nursing Program, Rita BrunnerÌýwithÌýÃ山ǿ¼éÌýOutreach and Engagement, Perry Township FireÌýDepartmentÌýand the 18th Indiana Light Artillery.Ìý
TheÌýÃ山ǿ¼é Nursing Program was recognized for providing faculty and students to administerÌýfirst aid and mental health support during the marchÌýfor many years.Ìý
Rita Brunner was honored for her dedicated service to NFM,ÌýbyÌýoverseeing both online and on-site registration forÌý15Ìýyears.
The Perry Township Fire Department was recognized for itsÌýcontinuous supportÌýforÌýproviding the American flagÌýand the 18th Indiana LightÌýArtillery,Ìýa historical reenactment group based in Indianapolis,Ìýwas commended for enriching the event experienceÌýby providingÌýaÌýhistoricalÌý10 Pound Parrott RifleÌýcannonÌýused to start each heat.Ìý
