Examples of Unacceptable Endorsement: 


Social Media Posts

    • Why it's not okay: The phrase 鈥渂est in the market鈥 is a value judgment, not a fact. 

Conference Presentations

    • Why it鈥檚 not okay: 鈥淓xcellent results鈥 implies endorsement rather than stating measurable outcomes. 

Media Interviews 

  • Example: A staff member tells a reporter: 鈥溍灞鼻考 partners with [Company X] because they鈥檙e the most reliable.鈥 
    • Why it鈥檚 not okay: 鈥淢ost reliable鈥 is subjective and could be seen as an official endorsement. 


Vendor Relationship Announcements

    • Why it鈥檚 okay: States collaboration factually, avoids promotional adjectives like 鈥渋nnovative鈥 or 鈥渂est.鈥 


Faculty Research Collaboration 

  • Scenario: A professor publishes a research paper and mentions the vendor whose equipment was used. Example: 鈥淭his study utilized [Brand X] microscopes for imaging.鈥 
    • Why it鈥檚 okay: Factual statement about equipment used, no opinion or promotional tone. 


Grant or Funding Acknowledgment 

  • A department receives a grant from a corporate sponsor and needs to acknowledge it publicly. Example: 鈥溍灞鼻考 received funding from [Company Y] to support STEM education initiatives.鈥 
    • Why it鈥檚 okay: States the fact of funding without implying superiority or recommending the company.
