The Career Success Center offers GENS 399, a course designed for students who wish to earn 1 to 3 academic credit hours for a qualified internship experience. Faculty and staff are encouraged to refer students to our office to learn more and register.

-Students are enrolled in a course section led by Career Success Center staff.
-The course is graded on a pass/no pass basis.
-Students gain access to a Blackboard course site and complete a small number of assignments, including:
-A learning agreement
-A mid-term evaluation
-A final evaluation
Credit hours are based on the total number of internship work hours completed:
-50 hours = 1 credit hour
-100 hours = 2 credit hours
-150 hours = 3 credit hours
This course is an excellent way to help students gain academic recognition for their professional experience.
If you know of a student who has recently completed or is currently participating in an internship, please encourage them to self-report the experience through by clicking the "Report Your Internship" link.
Faculty who supervise internships can view student-reported internships in Career Launch - send a list of your registered students to our staff and we will assign them to you when complete the online internship form.

Work-Study Eligibility
For positions funded through the Federal Work-Study program, you can contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance for a list of students who are eligible. Wages for these students are partially covered by federal funds.
When interviewing student worker candidates, hiring supervisors should:
