Acceptance to CAP requires that a student meet program and course prerequisites. Once you have researched your course options and how they would benefit you, it's time to apply to CAP! Follow the steps below to get enrolled!

New CAP Student
If you have not earned CAP credit in a previous semester, you are a new CAP student. You will need to submit a CAP application and request EVERY course you want to earn credit in. There is important information you will need to provide on your application.

CAP Registration for Spring 2026 is now closed
All students, regardless of if you have earned previous CAP credit or are a new student, must request CAP course(s) EVERY semester you want to earn CAP credit. Ideally, you will submit the Online Course Request once a semester, with all requested courses for your home high school and any half-day program you attend. A second submission is permitted if necessary.

Step-by-Step Electronic Student Permission Form Instructions
I submitted my CAP application, but my parent/guardian did not receive the electronic Student Permission Form email. What do I do?
If you submitted a CAP application and your parent/guardian has not received the electronic Student Permission Form email, it is possible that you accidentally entered their email address incorrectly on your application. Email the CAP Office at cap@usi.edu and include your name, your parent/guardian's name, and your parent/guardian's correct email address. The CAP Office will assist you.
My parent/guardian does not have an email address. What do I do?
If you have access to a printer, print the CAP Student Permission Form, take it home for a signature, and return it to your CAP instructor or high school guidance counselor.
If you do not have access to a printer, see your high school guidance counselor for a paper CAP Student Permission Form. Take it home for a signature and return it to your CAP instructor or high school guidance counselor.
I am a ward of the court or an emancipated minor. What do I do?
If you are a ward of the court or an emancipated minor, your counselor should sign the CAP Student Permission Form.
