Admission to the Firefly Festival is free. Some activities may require advance registration and tickets.

Draw Like a Naturalist Class for Adults (18+)

Join illustrator Savannah Hoskinson for this hands-on class exploring how to observe and draw from natural history specimens. | 1:30–3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27; $15/person, class limited to 8 participants.

Firefly Festival 5K Run/Walk

Lace up and join the Firefly Festival 5K Run/Walk: a scenic, all-levels race through historic New Harmony and along the Wabash River | 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27; $35 until June 10; $40 until race day (deduct $5 for medal-only option).

Firefly Flash Walk

A guided evening walk exploring the history and habitat of fireflies, inspired by Thomas Say's work in New Harmony. Learn how to spot and help protect these glowing insects | 8–9 p.m., Friday, June 26; $4/person (25% discount for ISMHS members).

Food Trucks and Booths

Grab dinner, drinks or a sweet treat from a variety of food trucks and vendors gathered at the Atheneum—perfect for a relaxed evening at the festival | 5–10 p.m. Friday–Saturday, June 26–27; Offerings and prices vary by vendor.

Glow Dance Party

Grab some free glow sticks and join the Glow Dance Party while you wait to visit Firefly Theater | 8–10 p.m., Friday–Saturday, June 26–27; Fun for all ages and completely free!

New Harmony History Tour

Curious about New Harmony's utopian past? Join a 2-hour guided History Tour and explore the town by tram and on foot, with stops inside historic buildings and sites | 1 p.m. Tuesday–Saturday; Ticket prices vary.

New Harmony Tram Tour

Sit back and enjoy a 45-minute tram tour through New Harmony, featuring historic sites, local favorites and a quick introduction to the town's 200-year story | 10 and 11:15 a.m., Tuesday–Saturday; Ticket prices vary.

Paint & Jam at the NHGCA

Create your own glow-in-the-dark t-shirt while enjoying live music by Just Wing It (2:30–3:15 p.m.) | 2–4 p.m., Saturday, June 27; Free and open to all ages.

The Life and Times of Thomas Say

Thomas Say: Frontier Scientist

Step into New Harmony's past with "Thomas Say: Frontier Scientist," a lively 20-minute performance that brings the story of the town's pioneering naturalist to life | 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday–Saturday, June 26–27; Free and open to all ages.

Tram & Golf Cart Rides to Firefly Theater
