Fee Waiver Eligibility

Students may qualify for a housing application fee waiver if they meet one of the following criteria:

• Indiana 21st Century Scholars
• Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch as a high school senior during the 2025–2026 academic year
• Students who qualify for standardized test fee waivers
• Military veterans and their dependents

Fee Waiver Process

Students who believe they may qualify for a fee waiver should follow the steps below:

1. Wait before completing the housing application.
• Do not submit the housing application until you receive a decision on your fee waiver request.
2. Submit a Fee Waiver Request.
• Log in to the Housing Portal and click the Fee Waiver Request button.
3. Upload required documentation.
• Supporting documentation must be provided to verify eligibility.
4. Wait for review and decision.
• Housing and Residence Life staff will review your request and send a status update via email.
5. Complete your next steps.
• If approved: Proceed with completing your housing application.
• If denied: Payment of the application fees is required to continue.

Important Information

Students who pay the housing application fee before requesting a waiver, or before receiving a decision, will not be refunded, even if they are later determined eligible. Be sure to check your email regularly for updates regarding your fee waiver request.
