Fall Move In

Your Campus Adventure Begins Here!

Move-in day is almost here, and an exciting new chapter is about to begin! Whether you're arriving on campus for the first time or returning for another great year, we're here to help make your move-in experience as smooth as possible. Explore the information below for important dates, move-in tips, and everything you need to know before arriving on campus. If you have questions, contact Living and our team will be happy to assist you. We can't wait to welcome you home!

Move-In Timeslots

Housing residents will sign up online for a timeslot to move in. This timeslot is for checking in, unloading vehicle(s) and moving them to designated parking lots. The timeslot form will be available on the  on Monday, July 20. 

Early Move-In 

(For students who need to be on campus for a 缅北强奸 sponsored event or activity.)
Saturday, August 8
11 a.m.-4 p.m.
HRL Office Parking Lot
Students must be approved to move in early.

Check-In Directions for Saturday, August 8

  • Take the 缅北强奸 exit from Highway 62 and turn left onto the overpass.
  • At the roundabout, stay left onto Clarke Lane.
  • At the four-way stop at Clarke Lane and O'Daniel Lane, turn left.
  • Continue to the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) Office.
  • Enter through the parking lot entrance (do not use the exit).聽

  • Only the student's vehicle should enter the check-in drive-through and proceed to the check-in tent.
  • Additional vehicles should bypass the check-in line and go directly to the student's assigned building.

After Check-In

  • Once you have checked in, head to your assigned building and begin moving into your new home!

Tip: Have your student ID ready to help speed up the check-in process.

Check-In at the Housing Office

Check-In Directions for Sunday, August 9

  • Check in at the Housing and Residence Life office during your assigned timeslot.
  • Park in the lot outside the office and come inside to complete the check-in process.

Please note: Parking at the Housing office is limited. Additional vehicles should proceed directly to the student's assigned building.

Drop & Go Move-In

Saturday, August 8
11 a.m.鈥�4 p.m.
Eligible students can drop off their belongings in their room before Operation Move-In and head home. Students will receive their room key on August 13 after Convocation.

Eligible students are new freshmen assigned to Newman, Governors, O'Bannon, or Ruston who live in Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, or Gibson County (IN) or Henderson County (KY).

  • Take the 缅北强奸 exit from Highway 62 and turn left onto the overpass.
  • At the roundabout, stay in left lane and proceed straight onto University Boulevard.
  • Follow University Boulevard to Rankin Lane for Newman and Governors and turn left or 
  • Follow University Boulevard to Rochelle Lane for O'Bannon and Ruston and turn left.
  • Pull into the circle drive to unload vehicle and then move vehicle to parking lot.
    • Vehicles must not remain in the circle drive.
  • Housing staff will allow students access to their assigned building and room to drop off belongings.
  • After drop off, students leave for home.
  • Students will receive their room key from Housing staff after Convocation on August 13.

Operation Move-In (OMI)

Thursday, August 13
7 a.m.鈥�2 p.m.
Get ready for the biggest move-in event of the year! OMI is the official freshman move-in day for students assigned to Newman, Governors, O'Bannon, and Ruston.

Operation Move-In (OMI) Directions

Newman, Governors, O'Bannon, Ruston

  • Take the 缅北强奸 exit from Highway 62 and turn left onto the overpass.
  • At the roundabout, turn right onto Clarke Lane.
  • Follow Clarke Lane as it curves around the back of campus and becomes Bent Twig Lane.
  • Continue past Reflection Lake to the stop sign at Bent Twig Lane and University Boulevard.
  • An information tent will be located at this intersection.
  • Turn left onto University Boulevard.
  • Students checking into O'Bannon or Ruston will take the first right into the parking lot.
  • Students checking into Newman or Governors will take the second right into the parking lot.

Volunteer Move-In Assistance

During Operation Move-In (August 13), volunteers will help unload vehicles and transport belongings to student rooms.

All residence halls have elevators; however, to keep move-in traffic flowing and reduce congestion in lobbies and hallways, students and guests should use the stairs whenever possible. Elevators will be reserved for students and guests with accessibility needs and for transporting large or heavy items.

Students who have a disability or medical condition that requires move-in accommodations should contact Living in advance.  

Returning Students

Guests During Move-In

Parents, families, and friends are welcome to help students move in and get settled into their new home on campus.

Mail and Packages

Housing will begin accepting mail and packages for fall residents on Wednesday, August 12. If you are not a summer housing resident, please do not have anything sent to campus prior to August 12. Please visit Mail and Packages for more information on how items should be addressed and where to pick up mail and packages.

Meal Plans

Meal plans begin Saturday, August 15 with brunch. For more information about meal plans visit . There will be food provided at many of the events and activities throughout Welcome Week.

Road Construction

Be aware there is ongoing road construction impacting both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 62 near campus. Plan accordingly when coming to campus.

Vehicle Registration and Parking

All students who plan to bring a vehicle to campus must register their vehicle online using the Vehicle Registration Form.

Apartment Residents
Complete your vehicle registration by Monday, August 3 to ensure your parking packet is ready when you move in. Your parking packet will include:

  • Parking permit decal
  • Decal placement instructions
  • Additional parking information

Vehicle registrations submitted after August 3 will be processed as they are received.

Residence Hall Residents
Residence hall students may pick up their parking permit packet on Thursday, August 13, from 7 a.m.鈥�4 p.m. in the Quiet Room of the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center (RFWC).

After August 13, parking permits can be picked up from Public Safety, located in Room 170 of the Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center.

Parking regulations will be enforced beginning on the first day of the fall semester.

Weather Plan

Move-in is a rain-or-shine event. If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, parts of the move-in process may be temporarily paused. Any updates will be shared on 缅北强奸 Housing and Residence Life social media, so be sure to check our accounts for the latest information on move-in day.
