New in 2026, the Professional Ethics Seminar is moving to a convenient virtual format! Join us for a three-week Lunch & Learn series, with one-hour sessions each week. Designed to spark meaningful discussion and provide tools you can use in your practice. Examine important issues facing healthcare professionals today, including AI in healthcare, vaccines, and moral distress in healthcare and practical resources for recognizing, understanding, and responding to it.

Target Audience

The target audience is for nurses, physicians, and individuals assisting patients and families with healthcare related needs.

$25 per session/$65 for all three sessions

Dr. Stephanie Hirons, 缅北强奸 Assistant Professor of Nursing, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse and a licensed mental health counselor. She holds dual bachelor's degrees in nursing and psychology, a master's degree in mental health counseling, and a doctorate degree in nursing. Dr. Hirons will present "Moral Distress Toolkit for Healthcare Professionals."

LTC(Ret.) Jonathan D. Stallings, PhD, MS
Dr. Jonathan Stallings is the Chief Data Scientist for the Joint Trauma System where he leads efforts in data infrastructure modernization and human-AI teaming research for combat casualty care. His work spans registry science, applied statistics, and the epistemic foundations of trustworthy AI-assisted decision-making. Dr. Stallings teaches this material through Data InDeed, his applied-statistics education platform for clinicians and analysts. He will present "From Knowing to Reasoning: A Practical Ethics Framework for Trusting AI - With a Case Study in Registry Operations."

Dr. Ronald Pyle is the Chair of Pediatrics, Director of Neonatology and Director of Neonatal Transport and Outreach for Deaconess The Women's Hospital. Dr. Pyle is also an adjunct professor of pediatrics with IU School of Medicine.
